Referee Bert Smith says blood clot in lung caused his fall at NCAA men's basketball tournament

Bert Smith, basketball referee, collapsed during a basketball tournament due to a blood clot in his lung. He was officiating the Elite Eight matchup last month in Indianapolis when he suddenly collapsed near the Gonzaga bench. Smith, 56, regained consciousness and was alert as he was carried off the floor on a stretcher.
